Karaja

So I work in the "I.T." industry and one of my clients from the Southern Highlands i.e. South of Sydney suggested a new makeup brand I have never heard of today.

Apparently the foundation is like a second skin, doesn't need reapplication (in comparison to other brands) and lets the skin breathe like nothing else.

The brand is called Karaja, it is an Italian makeup brand and only supplied to selective beauty therapist salons. I am so excited because I feel like I am being let in on a beauty secret. One of those 'underground' brands that not many people know about but work wonders and eventually gains more popularity with the masses a few years down the track.

My client recommended the Karaja Stop Shine foundation..and I asked her to bring some Karaja products in next time I see her and she agreed. Cost: AU$32. Not a bad price, as I can think of alot of other makeup brands that charge an arm and a leg for great foundation.

So anyhow, I paid the Karaja website a visit and was at first perplexed by the language.

Italian...great.

But a little British flag symbol in the top left hand corner indicates that not all is lost and finally I get the website running in English.

I really want the makeup sponge. We shall see how it goes when she brings this product over next time.
When I get my hands on Karaja Stopshine, I promise a review with before and afters and in comparisons with the standard MAC mineralized Satinfinish, Lancome Colour Ideal and possibly Makeup Store's foundation and we will see which one is more bang for your buck!

I have been delaying this post for much too long now. But the million dollar question is.

Where the heck do I start?
Even my bestfriend is nudging me to start writing on here. something. anything?!

However first and foremost I have to head out and purchase a good camera worth investing in.
But as always work and soon-to-be Uni is getting the better of me and I can never find a good dose of "me" time.

So before I get that camera and before I go any further, I think I might digress and chat a little about myself.

I have not always loved Makeup...great starting point!
Makeup was a world I was not eager to delve into while I was growing up. Hello Panda eyes!
That, and the fact that my parents also didn't encourage it.
Heck, when I did start wanting to wear it they were appalled.
(I don't know whether that was because of the way I applied it when I was 15 or whether it was due to the very fact that I was 15 when I applied it, that made them so dismayed. who knows?)

So I used to have to hide makeup in my school bag and then apply it on the train to school, because wearing makeup out the front door was absurd in the eyes of my parents.

Fast forward 5 years.

And my philosophy is

"A girl can never have too much makeup....or shoes" for that matter.

My two utter most guilty pleasures.

I have promised myself a purchase every week from the Makeup Store. I want their whole collection. I think my bestfriend and I are just a tad obsessed with Makeup Store.

What other makeup brand has their own MAGAZINE? Makeup store's eyeshadow palet and colours are nothing short of amazing, with the colour coming out rich, bright and vibrant in one sweep. For even more vibrance, the eyeprimer in nude comes in super handy to "bring on the colour".

My most highly recommended makeup brand! The Magazine is great with super helpful tips on how to apply makeup. What to do and what not to do. I can rave about this brand night and day, but I realize I should probably do a review or something.

I know this blog is very boring at the moment..but I promise there will be better content to come. I'm just starting out, so watch this space!!

Makeupedia is a blog which is seeking to first and foremost inspire, teach and generate a healthy enthusiasm, love and appreciation for cosmetics.

Makeup is not just products. Makeup is a lifestyle choice.

It gives women the option to create a look which will flatter their best facial/body assets and play down areas which they feel may be 'unfavourable' to their image.

Of course everybody feels like they have their own flaws, however you must remember.

You are your biggest critic and some 'flaws' which you may see may in fact be an asset in the eyes of others.

The grass is always greener on the other side. However with the correct technique and use of makeup you might just be able to taste test the 'greener' grass and achieve a look which will entirely compliment your self image.

For example, I have always thought my nose was too broad and bulbous at the especially at the nostrils and tip.

With the use of a foundation two shades darker than my skin tone, bronzer, translucent powder and shading technique. I am able to create the illusion of a narrower and less bulbous nose.

Makeup is a healthier and less extreme alternative to cosmetic surgery. With the help of makeup you will be able to completely bring out your beauty potential.

I hope with the help of Makeupedia, you will be able to achieve that and much, much more.

take care and til next time.
